This work is composed from three separate photo negatives and finished with hand-painted markings. A man’s back, tattooed with a vulture holding a snake, is merged with the skeleton of a bird’s wing and images of blackened burnt leaves.
Birds are among the many wildlife that lose their habitat and often their life to forest wild fires. By printing multiple layers of images I am to intensify the final image’s symbolic resonance and indicate our own vulnerability to these increasing wild fires.
