When I visited with a recent client to go over their photos for their wedding album, I noticed the sculptures that adorned their shelves. These were pre-Columbian sculptures that they enjoy collecting. They handed one to me to hold. This flat sculpture incised from stone made an impression on me. Later that day as I was thinking about printing their album, I realized that I wished to have this feeling or energy translated into the prints. I hope that I have succeeded in my aspiration.

We had a lot of fun since I held back some of the film of her near delivery to photograph her new baby with the same film. Please check out the post titled: Dreaming.
I have continued to work with her daughter with my 4X5 large format camera.

This is daring with a young child. But I love the spontaneity and playfulness of children and am not afraid to use this camera because the photos are so beautiful.

When Brooke emailed me a recent article about her work, I knew that I wished to let my readers know that not only does Brooke design and hand craft my wedding albums to tell the stories of my clients’ wedding days. She crafts unique albums for some of the best commercial photographers. What pleases me also about this article is that Brooke used my portrait of her that I printed in one of my favorite ways: palladium on Japanese gampi paper.
