Over Memorial Day weekend Jessica and Zev married on the hillside of Hildene overlooking the Green Mountains of Vermont. The day was one of those crystal clear blue sky days. The children were enjoying their new dresses and added their brightness as they walked the garden path to the ceremony site. With readings by their [...]

Weddings have ceremonies and traditions. To me some of the best moments are the expression of warmth, joy and curiosity. These are from one recent wedding.

At weddings I always see how families come together. This spirit shone at a recent wedding as I photographed a bride getting ready. Her mom passed the garter she wore at her wedding down to her daughter and slipped it on her leg. The bride’s brother took down her dress for her to put on. [...]

Recently I photographed a bride in her wedding dress designed by Jenny Packham. I wanted these photographs to be about feeling, to be as evocative and sensual as the dress. Rain would have seemed to diminish the joy at one of my weddings this August, but not so. It started to pour just as the bride and her party entered the bus hired to take them to the church. The groom ran from a taxi into the church, barely saving his linen suit from being [...]
I have heard from brides and grooms that the clinking of glasses in order to get them to kiss can be overdone. One alternative is to have your DJ or band leader announce that in order for the bride and groom to kiss, they must be serenaded by their guests. This is fun and involves [...]

The reason I have titled this post “Engagement Palladiums” is these are special prints that I offer to clients. Two weeks ago I photographed Maria and John on The Brooklyn Bridge. I photographed them with my 4X5 large format camera. Here are the palladium prints I produced from our session. I did one set as [...]
