We have been experiencing cold this winter. Many of us are having trouble dressing for and being outside in it. When I think of snow I am drawn to its beauty and yes, our abilities to experience it. Whether in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, where the swans manage with the snow and ice, or in Vermont with the snow building up and steam rising as a cow emerges from a barn, these sights affirm this beauty. A woman also steps out to claim her place in this snowy landscape.
